  • 2 lbs snow crab legs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Fill a large pot with about 2 inches of water and bring to a boil. Place a steamer basket over the boiling water and add the crab legs. Cover and steam for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  • While the crab is steaming, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley in a small bowl.
  • Remove the crab legs from the steamer and transfer to a platter.
  • Brush the garlic butter over the crab legs and sprinkle with salt to taste.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for a touch of acidity.

Notes

When preparing snow crab legs, steaming is a quick, gentle method that preserves their sweet flavor and tender texture. To ensure even cooking, arrange the crab legs in a single layer in the steamer basket and avoid overcrowding. For the best flavor, brush on the garlic butter immediately after steaming, while the crab is still hot, to let it absorb into the meat. Leftover crab can be used in salads, pastas, or even seafood chowder for added flavor.
